About Holy Trinity Catholic and Church of England School
Holy Trinity Catholic and Church of England School is a unique coeducational all-through school for pupils aged 3 to 16, located on Carlton Road in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. It is the only purpose-built 3-16 Catholic and Church of England school in the UK, formed in 2012 by merging St Michaels Catholic and Church of England High School, Holy Cross Deanery Church of England Primary School, and St Dominic's Catholic Primary School. The school operates under the joint jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hallam and the Church of England Diocese of Leeds. It moved into a new building adjacent to the old high school site upon formation. The school is part of the Hallam Schools Partnership Academy Trust since converting to an academy in 2018 after being placed in special measures in 2017. The curriculum and ethos reflect its dual faith foundation, providing a distinctive religious and academic education. Facilities are modern and purpose-built to support a wide age range of students, and the school has a history linked to the local community and Catholic education dating back to the 19th century.
