Hanson Academy

Hanson Academy is a co-educational secondary school and sixth-form located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Originally founded as Hanson Grammar School in 1897, the institution has undergone significant transformations over its 128-year history. It became a comprehensive school in 1972 and converted to academy status in July 2022 under the sponsorship of Delta Academies Trust. The school serves students aged 11-18 and is committed to its mission of 'Changing Lives' with core values of respect, responsibility, and resilience. In its most recent Ofsted inspection on 29 April 2025, Hanson Academy received 'Good' ratings across all areas including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth form provision, marking a remarkable transformation from its previous 'Requires Improvement' status.
