Ysgol Calon Cymru

Ysgol Calon Cymru (meaning 'Heart of Wales School') is a bilingual secondary comprehensive school located in Powys, mid Wales, with two campuses in Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells. The school opened in September 2018, replacing Builth Wells High School and Llandrindod High School following a decision made by Powys County Council in 2016. It provides English-medium education on both campuses and Welsh-medium education at the Builth Wells site. The school serves students aged 11 to 18 and is designated as mixed gender. In 2022, the school opened a new Sixth Form Centre and Community Hub in Llandrindod Wells. The school is currently undergoing proposed restructuring, with plans to establish a new all-age Welsh-medium school (ages 4-18) at the Builth Wells campus by September 2027, while the Llandrindod Wells campus would continue as an English-medium secondary school.
