About Southway Junior School

We are a thriving, larger than average school in Burgess Hill with approximately 360 pupils on roll. We place great value on outdoor learning and we are fortunate to have a large pond with a purpose built bird hide, a market garden, fruit trees, an adventure playground, a tyre park and an outdoor classroom.

"Mixed Experience at Southway Junior"

Our child has been at Southway Junior School for a few years now, and while they've had some great experiences, we've also had some issues with communication from the school. The teachers are generally supportive, but the school's approach to certain subjects could be improved.

"Excellent Support for Children"

As a parent, it's great to see the school supporting children with various needs. The clubs and after-school activities are excellent, and our child really enjoys the rocksteady club. We're very happy with the progress our child has made since joining the school.

"A Great School Experience for Our Child"

We sent our child to Southway Junior School from Year 3 to 6 and had a great experience overall. The staff are friendly and approachable, and the school's focus on outdoor learning is fantastic. However, we did feel that some of the homework could be more engaging.

"Wonderful School for our Child!"

We've been so impressed with Southway Junior School. The facilities are fantastic, especially the outdoor classroom and playground. Our child loves the sense of belonging and the values the school teaches are really making a difference.
