About Westmorland School

Westmorland School is an independent specialist day school providing high quality education for boys and girls. Our primary provision is based in Chorley, while our secondary provision, Westmorland Wood Campus, is based in Leyland; both provisions meet the needs of pupils with a range of needs, including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

"Exceptional Support and Care"

Westmorland School has been a game-changer for our son. The BEARS provision cluster at the primary school has tailored his education to meet his unique needs, and he has thrived under the expert care of the staff. The values of 'We learn to live together, together we live to learn' are truly evident in the way the school community supports each other.

"A School that Truly Cares"

Westmorland School has been an absolute haven for our child. The staff are kind, understanding, and dedicated to helping each child reach their full potential. "A Great Environment for my Child"

My son has been attending Westmorland School for two years now, and I have seen a significant improvement in his confidence and academic progress. The facilities are excellent, and the staff are very supportive. However, I do feel that some of the communication with parents could be improved.

"A Great Experience for Our Son"

We moved our son to Westmorland School after he struggled in a mainstream setting. The school's SEN provision was a godsend, and he made great progress under the care of the staff. While the school is not perfect, we were generally very pleased with the experience and would highly recommend it to others.
