About Whittonstall First School

Whittonstall First School is a school nestling on the southern edge of Northumberland. We are part of the Hexham Partnership with most of our children progressing to Corbridge Middle School and then to Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham. At Whittonstall we nurture kindness and the ability to care for others and we put community and citizenship at the heart of what we do.

"Love the Forest School Program!"

I'm so impressed with the Forest School program at Whittonstall First School. My child has thrived in the outdoor learning environment and has gained so much confidence. The staff are also fantastic and really care about each individual child's needs.

"Kindness and Community Spirit!"

Whittonstall First School really embodies the values of kindness, empathy, and community. My child has loved being part of the school community and has made some wonderful friends. The school's focus on growth mindset and mental health is also fantastic.

"Mixed Feelings"

We had a mixed experience at Whittonstall First School. The staff were generally friendly and the facilities were modern, but we did find the communication to be a bit lacking at times. Our child did enjoy the outdoor learning experiences and made some good friends, but we're not sure if we'd recommend the school to others without some reservations.
