About Darwen, St Barnabas CofE Primary Academy

At St Barnabas we strive to help every child to, ‘achieve great things’ and live ‘life in all its fullness’ by inspiring them with rich, fun experiences and equipping them with a love of learning. Our school has a strong Christian ethos built on our core Gospel values which the children chose themselves: Trust, Forgiveness, Friendship, Generosity, Respect, Service and Courage.

"Wonderful school with great Christian values"

We've been so impressed with St Barnabas Primary Academy. The values they teach, such as trust, forgiveness and respect, are really making a positive impact on our child's life. We love the way the school integrates faith with everyday learning.

"Fantastic facilities and supportive teachers"

My child loves attending St Barnabas and is really thriving academically and socially. The school's facilities are excellent, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor learning and sport. We've also been impressed with the support we've received from the teachers and pastoral team.

"Some strengths, but inconsistent teaching quality"

We moved our child to St Barnabas a year ago, and while we've seen some improvements in the teaching quality, we still feel that it can be inconsistent. The school's Christian values are a real strength, but we've experienced some issues with communication from the school office. Overall, it's been a mixed experience.
