About Dorchester Learning Centre

Dorchester Learning Centre provides education for students from Year 1 to Year 11. We are incredibly proud of the provision we offer, and are the first school in Dorset to be awarded the Trauma Informed & Mental Health Schools mark. Our aim is to support the whole student to readiness for their next steps in life.

"Mixed feelings about DLC"

We were initially impressed by the school's commitment to individualised learning, but we've experienced some inconsistencies in the quality of teaching and support. Our son has had some fantastic experiences, but we've also had some difficulties with communication and follow-up. Overall, we're still unsure about whether DLC is the right fit for our family.

"A school that truly understands its students"

The staff at DLC are absolutely fantastic, and the school's focus on mental health and wellbeing is incredibly reassuring. Our son is happy and confident, and the school's flexible approach to learning has been a game-changer for him. We feel so lucky to have found this school.

"Life-changing experience for our son!"

We can't thank the team at DLC enough for the incredible care and support they've given our son. The trauma-informed approach has made all the difference, and we've seen a huge positive impact on his mental health and wellbeing. The staff are truly committed to each child's individual needs, and the facilities are excellent.

"An amazing school that truly understands its students"

We were blown away by the dedication and expertise of the staff at DLC. Our daughter was able to thrive in a safe and supportive environment, and the bespoke curriculum was tailored perfectly to her needs. We're so grateful for the experience and can't recommend the school enough.
