About Oakwood Primary Academy

Oakwood Primary Academy is a thriving primary school, situated in the heart of Willingdon Trees. We provide a nurturing and inspiring education for just over 300 pupils currently on roll, ranging from our onsite Nursery and Early Years Foundation Stage Village through to our oldest children in Year 6.

"Some mixed feelings"

We've been at Oakwood for a few months now and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. The staff are all very friendly and the facilities are great, but I'm not sure about the curriculum - it seems a bit disjointed at times. My child is still adjusting to the school routine, but I'm hoping things will settle down soon

"Wonderful community feel"

We have been at Oakwood Primary Academy for two years now and I couldn't be happier. The school's commitment to 'Being Better Every Day' really shines through in the way the staff and children support each other. My son loves the after-school clubs - especially the sports ones!

"Excellent facilities"

My daughter has just moved to Oakwood and we're so impressed with the school's facilities. The Early Years Foundation Stage Village is amazing and the staff seem really knowledgeable about the new curriculum. I also like the way they encourage children to take risks and try new things

"Still impressed"

My son graduated from Oakwood last year and I'm still impressed with the school's values and ethos. The teachers were always approachable and the extracurricular activities were great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I think the school could do more to promote parental involvement
