About The Outdoors School

The Outdoors School offers a new and different approach to learning for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). We work on a learner-led, forest school, experiential and project-based social emotional curriculum, where life skills, coping strategies for behaviour and social situations are at the heart of learning.

"A school that truly understands our child"

The Outdoors School has been an absolute revelation for our son. They've taken the time to understand his unique needs and have developed a tailored learning plan that's helped him thrive. We're incredibly grateful for the support and care they've shown him.

"Life changing experience for our son!"

The Outdoors School has been a game changer for our son. The forest school approach and dedicated staff have helped him build confidence and resilience. We've seen a significant improvement in his academic progress and he's happier than ever!

"Some great aspects, but room for improvement"

We've had a mixed experience with The Outdoors School. The outdoor activities and projects have been fantastic for our son, but we've occasionally struggled with communication from staff. The school's values and approach are great, but we feel that they don't always live up to their promises.

"Outstanding school and wonderful community"

My daughter attended The Outdoors School for two years and it was an incredible experience for her. The staff are passionate, caring and highly skilled, and the facilities are exceptional. We were sad to leave but feel confident that she's well-equipped for her future.
