About Heathfield Special School

Heathfield is a special school for pupils aged between 3 and 11 who have a wide range of moderate or severe learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have additional or associated difficulties such as autism, speech and language difficulties and social and emotional needs. All of our pupils have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

"Friendly and approachable school"

We visited Heathfield special school for a tour and were blown away by the warmth and friendliness of the staff. The school's values of respect, encouragement, happiness, trust, individuality and confidence are really evident in everything they do. We're really pleased with the progress our child has made since joining the school.

"Some issues with communication"

We've had a mixed experience with Heathfield special school. While the staff are generally friendly and the facilities are good, we've sometimes struggled to get information about our child's progress. We've had to chase up reports and emails, which can be frustrating. We hope they can improve their communication in the future.

"Excellent school for special needs children"

Heathfield special school has been a game changer for our child. The staff are kind, caring and professional and have worked tirelessly to support our child's needs. The facilities are also excellent, including the playground and sensory room. We can't rate them highly enough.

"Fantastic education and care"

Our child attended Heathfield special school from Year 2 to Year 5 and had a wonderful experience. The staff were always available to offer support and advice, and the school's therapy dog was a particular highlight for our child. We can highly recommend Heathfield to any family considering a special school.
