Ysgol Y Garnedd

Ysgol Y Garnedd is a Welsh-medium community primary school located in Bangor, Gwynedd, serving the city and surrounding villages including Tal-y-Bont and Llandygai. The school is a modern facility that opened in November 2020 as part of Gwynedd Council's 21st Century Schools Programme, representing an £8 million investment in educational resources. The new building combines traditional welcoming values with contemporary teaching and learning resources, featuring fourteen classrooms, two ALN (Additional Learning Needs) classrooms, a nursery, Cylch Meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroup), music room, cooking facilities, gymnasium, and a large multi-use community hall. The school emphasizes bilingual education, with children developing confidence in both Welsh and English by the end of their primary school career.
