The Greenwell Academy

The Greenwell Academy is a purpose-built special school located in Harlow, Essex, offering a nurturing, inclusive environment for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and associated needs. The school has a capacity of 64 pupils and provides residential provision for 15 students, creating an intimate learning environment with individualized attention. Named after Richard Greenwell, a former governor at Beckmead who dedicated his career to educating disadvantaged children, the academy is part of The Beckmead Trust and serves students aged 7-16. The school opened in 2023 and is situated next to Sir Frederick Gibberd secondary school, offering a curriculum that encompasses formal, informal, and enriched opportunities for academic, physical, social, vocational, and emotional development.
