About The Grove Infant and Nursery School

The Grove Infant and Nursery School is a community school for children from 4 to 7 years of age. It is situated in Southdown on the edge of Harpenden, and the current building dates from 1967. We have a thriving, happy and creative learning community, we put children at the centre of all of our endeavours.

"Some strengths, some areas for improvement"

We have been pleased with the progress our child has made at The Grove, but have sometimes struggled with communication from the school. The facilities are excellent and the outdoor learning environment is a highlight, but we feel that the school could do more to support children with SEN. Still, we would definitely recommend it.

"Wonderful experience at The Grove"

We have been blown away by the care and dedication of the staff at The Grove. Our child has thrived in their Reception year and we can't wait to see them grow and develop in the coming years. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the outdoor learning environment is incredible.

"A truly outstanding school"

We visited The Grove as part of our nursery application process and were immediately impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and we loved seeing the children learning and playing together. Our child is loving their time in the nursery and we feel confident that they are in good hands.

"A great school with a strong sense of community"

We were part of The Grove community for 5 years and had a wonderful experience. The staff were always supportive and approachable, and the school's values of empathy, resilience and curiosity really shone through in the way they taught and cared for our child. We felt so lucky to be part of such a special place.
