About Hexham Priory School

We are a special school in West Northumberland for pupils aged from 2 to 19 years with severe, profound and multiple learning disabilities including Autism. The school is part of the northern hub of the Eden Academy Trust, a family of special schools who work together under one Multi Academy Trust.

"Room for improvement, but great potential"

While my child is generally happy at Hexham Priory School, I've noticed some inconsistencies in the quality of teaching and care. However, the Physiotherapy program has been a huge help for his physical development. I hope to see improvements in the coming months.

"A supportive and inclusive community"

I've been thoroughly impressed with Hexham Priory School's approach to supporting my child's unique needs. The staff are friendly and understanding, and the facilities are well-equipped to cater for different abilities. The focus on creativity and independence is fantastic!

"Exceptional care and attention"

My son has thrived at Hexham Priory School. The teachers and teaching assistants are dedicated and go above and beyond to ensure his needs are met. The Speech and Language Therapists have been a game-changer for his communication skills.

"A warm and welcoming environment"

I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to send my child to Hexham Priory School. The school's values of care and respect are evident in every interaction. While there were some challenges along the way, the staff's dedication and creativity helped my child grow and develop significantly.
