St Thomas Catholic Voluntary Academy is the sole Catholic primary school in Ilkeston serving the large parish of Our Lady and Saint Thomas of Hereford. We aim to create a caring Christian atmosphere based on Gospel values and a love of Christ which teaches children respect for themselves and for others.

"Excellent Education and Values"

My child has flourished at St Thomas Catholic Voluntary Academy. The teachers are knowledgeable and passionate about their subject areas, and the facilities are modern and well-maintained. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on Gospel values such as love, respect, and forgiveness, which are instilled in the children every day.

"Pleasant but Room for Improvement"

My child is generally happy at St Thomas Catholic Voluntary Academy, and I appreciate the emphasis on values and community service. However, I do feel that the school could do more to engage with parents and involve us in the decision-making process. Additionally, I've noticed that the school's facilities can sometimes be a bit worn out, but overall, St Thomas is a good choice for families in the area.

"Wonderful School Community"

I have many fond memories of our time at St Thomas Catholic Voluntary Academy. The school's commitment to Catholic values and social responsibility is truly outstanding, and the teachers and staff are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment. While there are always areas for improvement, I believe that St Thomas is an excellent choice for families seeking a faith-based education.
