About Shire Oak VC Primary School

Shire Oak CE Primary School is a small, close-knit school tucked away in the leafy heart of Headingley. Our ethos is reflected throughout the whole school and can be sensed from the instant the grounds are entered. We aim to celebrate lifelong learning, to nurture the natural inquisitive nature within all children, to develop confidence and independent learning, and to provide rich learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom.

"Love the virtual open day!"

I was a bit hesitant to attend an open day with a new baby, but the virtual open day was amazing! It gave me a great overview of the school and its values. I'm also impressed with the school's commitment to lifelong learning and its beautiful grounds.

"Wonderful school for our child's education"

We are so glad we chose Shire Oak for our child's primary education. The staff are caring and supportive, and the facilities are great. We love the Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Your Best ethos and how it's embedded in everything they do.

"Great experience, but some improvements needed"

We have two children who attended Shire Oak and had a great experience overall. The teachers were always available to discuss our child's progress and the school's values of kindness, safety, and self-improvement really shine through. However, we did find the communication with parents could be better at times.
