About Oakwood Community School

Oakwood Community School is a happy and friendly school with a strong sense of ethos. Our students make huge amounts of progress in their time with us, and this is shown in their academic and social development. We are a school that sets itself the challenge to be creative and to make all learning as enjoyable and as much fun as possible.

"A warm welcome at Oakwood"

My son has been at Oakwood for three years now and I've been consistently impressed with the care and support he receives. The staff are dedicated and passionate about helping each child reach their full potential. I love the focus on community and mutual respect - it's clear that the school values each individual.

"Excellent support for children with complex needs"

As a parent of a child with complex needs, I was a bit apprehensive about finding a school that could meet her requirements. Oakwood has exceeded our expectations in every way. The bespoke educational packages and the focus on social and emotional growth have made a huge difference to our daughter's confidence and happiness.

"A good, but not outstanding, experience"

My child was at Oakwood for two years and I had mixed feelings about the experience. The facilities are excellent and the staff are generally kind and supportive. However, I felt that the curriculum was a bit too focused on vocational skills and didn't offer enough academic rigor for children who are gifted and talented.
