About Woolgrove School, Special Needs Academy

Woolgrove School is Hertfordshire’s largest primary special school for children aged 4 to 11 years with Learning Difficulties as a main presenting need. We are a happy, nurturing school where the children are at the heart of everything we do. We have a caring, creative and hard-working team of staff who do their utmost to work in partnership with parents/carers and a range of professionals to achieve the best outcomes for all our pupils.

"Wonderful Supportive Environment!"

We have been blown away by the care and dedication of the Woolgrove team. Our child has thrived in the school's nurturing environment and the 'can do' approach to learning has been a game-changer. We particularly love the sensory rooms and the regular opportunities for our child to engage with the local community. Thank you, Woolgrove, for making our child feel so loved and supported!

"A Home Away from Home"

Woolgrove has been a lifesaver for our family. The staff are kind, understanding, and go above and beyond to ensure our child's needs are met. The school's values of 'live, laugh, and learn together' shine through in everything they do. Our child loves the outdoor spaces and the sense of community is palpable. We feel so grateful to have found Woolgrove!

"Some Good, Some Room for Improvement"

We were initially impressed by Woolgrove's facilities and commitment to supporting children with special needs. However, we did experience some challenges with communication and consistency during our child's time at the school. That being said, we saw significant progress in our child's abilities and they formed some wonderful friendships. We would recommend Woolgrove with some caveats.
