Barn Croft Primary School

I am absolutely delighted with Barn Croft Primary School. From the moment my child started, they have felt loved and supported. The facilities are excellent, with plenty of space for outdoor learning and play. The values of COURAGE, LOVE, and EXCELLENCE are truly embedded in the school culture, and I love hearing about how my child is living these values in everyday life. I highly recommend Barn Croft to any parent looking for a nurturing and inclusive school community.

We have been part of the Barn Croft community for three years now, and it has been a joyous journey for our entire family. The headteacher, Mrs Schweitzer, has always been approachable and willing to listen, and the staff are dedicated and caring. My child has grown in confidence and academic ability, and I attribute this to the school's commitment to providing a broad and inspiring curriculum. We feel so lucky to be a part of this wonderful school.

While we have been happy with the basics at Barn Croft, I do feel that the school could do more to engage with parents and involve us in the decision-making process. The weekly newsletter is a good idea, but sometimes it feels like we're receiving information a bit too late to be of much use. That being said, the staff are generally friendly and supportive, and my child loves coming to school each day. With a bit more effort to communicate with parents, I think Barn Croft could be an outstanding school.

We left Barn Croft after my child moved to secondary school, but we still keep in touch with the school and attend events whenever possible. We were always impressed by the school's commitment to inclusion and social responsibility, and the values-based approach to teaching and learning. The playground is a lovely space for children to play and socialise, and the teachers are always willing to go the extra mile for their pupils. If we were still living in the area, our younger child would definitely attend Barn Croft.
