"My eldest was expelled from mainstream and put in a PRU"

My eldest was expelled from mainstream and put in a PRU. I had been fighting for a specialist provision for him for ten years but the authority kept saying he was “thriving” and didn’t need the support because he is high achieving academically. I would NEVER buy a house next to one of those places. The experience traumatised him more that he was already from mainstream education and being bullied. The kids have extreme behavioural problems.

"Some good points but room for improvement"

We rent a property next door to one, and have lived at this school for the last couple of years. There has never been an issue with pupils or antisocial behaviour. I can hear them during break if they talk loud or kick a ball against a chain fence but it lasts all of 10 minutes once or twice during the week. The only thing that can be annoying is the amount of parking the staff can take up but that’s only during certain hours of the week.

"Would not choose again"

My wife worked at a PRU and the students were awful, so many issues with violence and anti social behaviour. I’d run as fast as you can away from this house

"A couple hundred metres is pretty far"

A couple hundred metres is pretty far. In my town that would be a 2-3 streets away. I still probably would not like the location but if you otherwise love the house...
