East London Independent School

East London Independent School is a specialist therapeutic education provider operating across two sites in the London Borough of Newham: Stratford Marsh (main site for ages 12-19) and Varley Road, Custom House (Nurture Primary site for ages 7-12). The school serves exceptional neurodiverse children and young people, primarily those with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs) and/or ASC (autism spectrum condition). All pupils have Education, Health & Care Plans and are referred by Local Authorities across London and the Home Counties. The school employs a therapeutic approach based in neuroscience and offers a broad, ambitious curriculum carefully adapted to help pupils achieve their education, health and care plan targets. It received an Ofsted 'Outstanding' rating in June 2025 and was awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark Award in 2018. The school operates on principles of therapeutic education, offering speech and language therapy, creative arts psychotherapy, occupational therapy, and the award-winning LIFE programme focused on leadership, independence, future options, employability, and empowerment.
