Slaley First School

We've been at Slaley First School for over a year now and I'm so glad we made the decision to move our child here. The staff are friendly and genuinely invested in the children's well-being and learning. The 'Buddies' program for children with additional needs is particularly impressive. We've experienced a seamless transition into Reception and Reception has been a wonderful year for our child so far. We feel lucky to be part of this school community!

I've been impressed with Slaley First School's emphasis on mental health and wellbeing, evident in activities like the 'Colour Monster' sessions. My child loves their teacher and the other staff are always available to chat about their progress. The facilities are also great, especially the outdoor classroom. However, I do wish there was more flexibility in the after-school club options. Overall, a great school that I feel confident sending my child to!

My child attended Slaley First School for a few years before moving to a different area. While the staff were always friendly and the facilities were decent, I felt that the curriculum could be more engaging and there were some issues with communication between teachers and parents. I appreciated the emphasis on 'Respect, Responsibility, Resilience' but sometimes felt that these values weren't consistently enforced. Overall, it was an average experience for us.
