Astrea Academy Dearne is an 11-16 non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Goldthorpe, Barnsley. We have over 1,100 scholars on roll here, with 240 new places in Year 7 each year. We believe in traditional approaches to teaching and we value scholarship.

"A Great School for My Daughter"

My daughter loves attending Astrea Academy Dearne. The facilities are excellent and the teachers are always available to help. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on scholarship and traditional teaching methods.

"A Good All-Round Experience"

Our experience at Astrea Academy Dearne has been generally positive. The school's commitment to its core values of scholarship, curiosity, tenacity, responsibility and respect is impressive. My son is enjoying his time here and making good progress.

"Excellent Education and Support"
