Ysgol Maes Garmon

Ysgol Maes Garmon is the only Welsh-medium secondary school in Flintshire, located on Stryd Conwy in Mold (Yr Wyddgrug). Established in 1961, it serves students aged 11 to 18 and offers a bilingual education with a strong emphasis on Welsh language and culture. The school provides a unique 'Trochi' immersion program for students coming from English-medium primary schools to learn Welsh quickly and integrate fully into Welsh-medium education. It shares some facilities with the nearby Alun School and is known for its caring, inclusive ethos where every pupil is valued as part of the school 'family'. The school supports a wide range of extracurricular activities and has been featured in a documentary highlighting Welsh-medium education.
