About Brougham Street Nursery School

We are a Local Authority Maintained Community Nursery School and Childcare Setting located in the heart of Skipton, Gateway to the Dales. We combine the benefits of Early Years Education with the flexibility of wrap-around childcare. We firmly believe that these first years of life are the most important, and are where children gain their thirst and enthusiasm for learning.

"Fantastic nursery, felt like a home away from home!"

I have been sending my daughter to Brougham Street Nursery for two years now and I couldn't be happier. The staff are so caring and attentive, and the forest school program is a highlight of the week. My daughter has grown so much and is always excited to go to nursery. I've even joined the parent volunteers and it's lovely to see the children thrive in such a supportive environment.

"Outstanding care and facilities!"

We chose Brougham Street Nursery for its unique 'not for profit' status and we've been impressed by the quality of care and education. The staff are highly skilled and dedicated, and the nursery's commitment to providing a warm and nurturing environment is evident in every aspect. My son loves the wrap-around childcare and I appreciate the flexibility this provides.

"Good experience, but could improve on communication"

We moved our daughter out of Brougham Street Nursery last year, but we have many fond memories of our time there. The staff were always kind and responsive to our daughter's needs, and the nursery's focus on outdoor learning was fantastic. However, we sometimes felt that communication with the nursery could be better, especially when it came to scheduling and updates.

"Excellent education and support"

We've been impressed by the nursery's high expectations for all children and the emphasis on early years education. The staff are very supportive and work closely with parents to ensure each child reaches their full potential. Our daughter is thriving in the 30-hour funded place and we're grateful for the opportunity to give her such a great start in life.
