Godre'rgraig Primary School

Godre'rgraig Primary School, originally opened on 20th October 1896, has a long history serving the Swansea Valley community. The school was initially established with 81 pupils, growing slightly in its early terms. In recent years, the original building was closed in July 2019 due to a medium risk of landslide from a nearby quarry spoil tip, leading to the demolition of the old site. Pupils were relocated to portable classrooms near Cwmtawe Community School in Pontardawe, about three miles away. There have been ongoing efforts and community concerns regarding funding and plans for a new replacement school building. The school is currently located at Parc Ynysderw, Ffordd Pace Ynysderw, SA8 4EG. Godre'rgraig Primary is known for providing a broad, balanced, and stimulating educational environment for its pupils.
