Penyrheol Comprehensive School

Penyrheol Comprehensive School is a secondary school located on Pontarddulais Road, Gorseinon, Swansea, Wales. Established in 1973, it serves students aged 11 to 16 from the surrounding areas including Penyrheol, Gorseinon, and Loughor. The school experienced significant challenges including two major fires, one in 1976 and another around 2006, which led to rebuilding efforts. In 2009, a new £9.9 million building was opened, featuring modern facilities such as a sprinkler system and enhanced CCTV for safety. The school does not have a sixth form and focuses on providing a comprehensive secondary education with a strong community presence. It has a reputation for resilience and continuous improvement, serving approximately 877 students as of early 2024.
