About Uplands School
Uplands School is a purpose-built special school located within The Learning Campus in Swindon, completed in October 2006. It serves students aged 11-19 years with severe (SLD) or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), often with additional complex needs. The school is part of the Brunel Academies Trust and operates as a Partnership Funded Initiative (PFI) school co-located with mainstream primary and secondary schools and a primary special school. The curriculum is ambitious and personalised, delivered through three curriculum pathways designed to Engage, Enable and Challenge students to meet their individualised outcomes, with emphasis on developing literacy, maths, independence and life skills. All students have statements of SEN with attainment on entry well below national age-related expectations.
