About Ysgol Morgan Llwyd
Ysgol Morgan Llwyd is a Welsh-medium secondary school located in Wrexham, Wales, and is the only Welsh-medium secondary school in Wrexham County Borough. It was founded in 1963 as the first Welsh-medium secondary school in the area, initially housed in army barracks before moving to a purpose-built site on Stockwell Grove in 1975, and then relocating to its current location on Cefn Road (Ffordd Cefn) in 2000. The school serves a wide catchment area including the city of Wrexham, nearby villages, and rural areas such as Dyffryn Ceiriog. It offers education for students aged 11 to 19, including a sixth form, and follows a curriculum that includes Welsh language and literature, English, mathematics, French, religious education, politics, child development, and physical education. The school emphasizes a close, caring Welsh environment where every individual is encouraged to flourish academically, creatively, and personally. It has a reputation for being a welcoming community with a nut-free policy and a strong focus on respect, responsibility, and high achievement.
