Treffos School

Treffos School is an independent primary school established in 1983 by Joyce Humphreys on the Isle of Anglesey near Llansadwrn, close to Menai Bridge. It began as a small school with nine pupils and has grown steadily, converting farm buildings into classrooms and developing outdoor play and sports facilities. The school has a Christian ethos but also teaches other world religions and is affiliated with the Welsh Independent Schools Council (WISC). It offers education from pre-school age through primary years, including wrap-around care such as morning and after-school clubs. The school emphasizes a nurturing environment, a thematic curriculum, and extensive outdoor learning opportunities, fostering confident, inquisitive, and motivated children. It is well-regarded for its strong community spirit and its ability to meet the needs of working families. The school is entirely fee-funded and independent of government support. It also has a close relationship with the local Armed Forces community, providing unique learning experiences related to military life and local partnerships.
