Pencoedtre High School

Pencoedtre High School, located on Merthyr Dyfan Road in Barry, Wales, is a mixed-gender secondary school serving approximately 1,100 students aged 11 to 19. Originally opened in 1971 as Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School, a girls-only school, it transitioned to a mixed school and was renamed Pencoedtre High School in 2018. The school shares a joint sixth form with Barry Comprehensive School under the name Whitmore High School. The campus spans 36 acres and includes extensive facilities such as sports fields, tennis courts, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a fitness gym, science labs, music studios, and multiple computer rooms. The school emphasizes a supportive and inclusive environment where students from diverse backgrounds can thrive academically and socially.
