About Ide Primary School

Ide Primary School has been at the heart of the village of Ide since the mid-1850s, and has grown over the years, we currently have 156 children attending the school, with 134 children on roll from reception. The school’s designated catchment area covers about 15 square miles and encompasses the villages of Ide, Dunchideock and Longdown. Parents often choose the school because of its size, rural character, distinctive approach to the curriculum and the value that it places on knowing children as individuals.

"Good school, but some minor issues"

We've been at Ide Primary School for a year now and overall we're happy with the education and care our child is receiving. The staff are all very friendly and the facilities are great. However, we've had some minor issues with communication and organisation, which can be frustrating at times. We're hoping these will be addressed in time, as we do love the school's values and approach.

"Wonderful school, amazing staff!"

I am so grateful to have found Ide Primary School for my children. The staff are all so kind, caring and dedicated to providing the best possible education. My child loves the outdoor facilities and the way the school values each child as an individual. We would highly recommend it!

"Excellent school with a great community"

We were part of the Ide Primary School community for 3 years and had a wonderful experience. The staff are all so passionate about what they do and the school's focus on knowing each child as an individual really shines through. The facilities are excellent and the children love the outdoor areas. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a school with a strong community feel.
