About Willoughby Primary School

Willoughby Primary School is a small, friendly village school in an attractive environment. Our numbers fluctuate around 40-50 pupils on roll. We pride ourselves on setting the highest standards and expectations for our pupils whilst celebrating success of all kinds and encouraging in them a ‘Learning for Life’.

"Small school with a big heart"

My son has been at Willoughby Primary for 2 years now and I couldn't be happier with the school. The small class sizes mean he gets plenty of one on one attention and the teachers are all so caring and supportive. He loves going to school and that's all down to the fantastic staff and facilities here. We've also really enjoyed the extra-curricular activities like the Go Ape trip, they're a great way to learn new skills and make new friends.

"A true community school"

As a parent, it's wonderful to see the school's values of respect, kindness and teamwork in action every day. The children are encouraged to be independent and take responsibility for their actions and it's been amazing to see my child grow in confidence and self-esteem. The after-school clubs like the Explorer Academy visit are also a great way to expose them to new experiences and interests.

"A good but not perfect school"

We had a generally positive experience at Willoughby Primary. The teachers were always approachable and the facilities were good. However, we did feel that the school could do more to support children with special needs. My daughter did well here and made some lovely friends, but I do think the school could benefit from a bit more structure and routine.
