About The Davenport School

The Davenport School is a special independent school registered by the DfE for 22 children (aged 5-12) who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our expertise means that we can provide an educational approach that will enable our children to make progress academically and social emotionally. We believe that our nurturing school community enables us to build the trusting relationships our pupils need to thrive.

"A Home Away from Home for My Child"

I couldn't be more grateful for the love and care my child receives at The Davenport School. The Meadow Days program has been a game-changer for their emotional development, and I love how the staff encourage individual expression. Our child's Core Values are being taught every day, and I've seen a significant improvement in their confidence and self-esteem.

"A Place of Love and Learning"

The Davenport School is truly a place of love and learning. Our child has thrived in the residential setting, and the staff have been nothing short of amazing. They've helped our child develop a love of reading and a renewed confidence in their abilities. We couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to send our child here.

"A Second Family for Our Child"

The Davenport School has been a godsend for our child. They needed a safe and nurturing environment, and they've found it here. The staff are supportive, kind, and truly care about each child's well-being. I've seen our child thrive in ways I never thought possible.

"A Mixed Experience"

We had a good experience with The Davenport School, but it wasn't without its challenges. The staff were generally supportive, but we had to navigate some bureaucratic red tape at times. However, our child did make progress, and we appreciate the efforts of the teachers and support staff. Perhaps it's just a case of 'you get what you pay for' in the world of special education.
