Southend YMCA Community School

Southend YMCA Community School is an alternative provision academy serving students aged 14-18, located in Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea. The school provides full-time alternative education combining a GCSE programme with enrichment activities and pastoral support for young people who cannot attend mainstream school due to exclusion, behaviour issues, illness, school refusal, or unsuitability to traditional education. Established through the Free School system, the school is built on three core values: Respect, Potential, and Restorative. The school achieved an Ofsted Good rating in its most recent inspection (May 2025), with Behaviour and Attitudes rated as Outstanding, and provides a calm, well-ordered learning environment with a focus on personal development, safeguarding, and preparation for education, employment, or training.
