About Goathland Primary School

Goathland Primary School is an attractive, modern and dynamic school catering for children from aged 3 to 11. Originally built in the 1800s, and tastefully extended and modernised in the 1970s, the school building is beautifully situated in the midst of stunning moorland, yet only a few minutes’ drive from the main A169 Whitby to Pickering road.

"Best school ever!"

We've been at Goathland Primary for 5 years now and it's just been amazing. The staff are so caring and supportive, and the facilities are great too. We love the emphasis on 'Believe you can, together we will' - it's really made my child believe in themselves.

"Excellent education and values"

We've been really impressed with Goathland Primary's approach to education and their focus on values like 'Believe you can, together we will'. The teachers are knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects, and our child is flourishing. We've also loved the opportunities for extracurricular activities like sports and music.

"Mixed experience"

My child loves going to Goathland Primary and the staff are all very friendly. However, I've had a few issues with communication and organisation, particularly when it comes to events and school holidays. I'm hoping this will improve as we settle in.

"Wonderful experience for our daughter"

We moved to the area when our daughter was in Year 1 and she thrived at Goathland Primary. The staff were always welcoming and kept us informed about her progress. We loved the sense of community and the opportunities for outdoor learning on the moors.
