About Fylingdales Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School

We are a small, vibrant state run primary school nestled between the picturesque village of Fylingthorpe and Robin Hoods Bay, just a short drive from Whitby. We provide a unique mix of small class sizes, enriching activities (including beach schools, dance and football), and a balanced curriculum taught by our much loved, long standing teachers.

"Wonderful School Experience"

My daughter has been thriving at Fylingdales since starting in Year 1. The teachers are caring and the facilities are excellent - the beach school sessions are a highlight of our week! The Christian values are woven throughout the school and we're grateful for the emphasis on kindness and community.

"A Great School with Room for Improvement"

We've been really pleased with Fylingdales so far. The school has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are friendly. However, we've found that some of the extracurricular activities are a bit hit and miss - we've had good experiences with the football club, but the dance club has been disappointing.

"A School that Truly Cares"

I have fond memories of my time at Fylingdales as a parent. The school does a fantastic job of balancing academic rigor with fun activities like beach schools and sports days. The staff are dedicated and genuinely care about the well-being of each child.
